I recently set up a dualboot on this comp so I can use both ubuntu and vista, but a few days ago, I screwed it up. I was installing some graphics drivers, and then when I restarted it, I discovered the monitor cannot display the resolution the os was set to (well, thats an assumption).

So the question is, how do I change the resolution setting without it loading the current ones (I realize I could probably just use a diff monitor to change it, but I'm lazy)?

Edit: should mention that It was ubuntu that I screwed up

You installed the proprietary drivers in Ubuntu through the utility and set the resolution too high on accident? Sorry, wasn't sure if I understood.
So when you boot into Ubuntu, what happens?

How do I boot into safe mode in ubuntu, I searched everywhere and couldn't find anything that would tell me (keep in mind it's dualbooted).

The drivers that ubuntu used on default worked fine, but I wanted the newest version. So I downloaded and installed them. When I restarted my computer the resolution had been set to something that the monitor doesn't support.
When I boot in, the ubuntu loading bar thing appears, then screen goes black and monitor shows a message saying "VGA MODE NOT COMPATIBLE".

Ok, that's what I thought, wanted to make sure I wasn't going to screw it up any more than it already is.

I recommend deleting Ubuntu i like it too but after having it for 2 month's i realized it was useless, i had to reboot a million times to access some of my simple files that Ubuntu cant read... Ubuntu is like Mac but 5 times better and free
