|
|
So yesterday i decided to finaly clean out the inside of my computer tower, (dust). And i had an idea, my case has 1 heatsing, and thats on the proccesor. so im like oh wtf...., i decided to keep the case open and put a 12'' by 12'' mini fan backwards against the open side, like a BIG heat sink, it seems to cool this off realy well, but is it bad for the computer??

I've had my case open since I built the computer years ago, it's fine and nothing has ever clogged, or come remotely close. I guess the torrent of air inside keeps anything from truly building up.

i dont understand, a cpu requires one heat sink and can only have one heat sink, and a case fan blows air into the case to cool other components. you cant use a heat sink just as a case fan.

... i understand a ghetto fan filter like the post i made earlier but a ghetto cpu filter?
check ur temps here.
http://www.almico.com/sfdownload.php
it takes only so much heat until ur cpu melts.
but if your temps are less than 50c, ur a fking genius.
what kind of cpu u have ?

it should blow in but make sure wheres enough holes for all that air to go out if not then its not a good idea to use a big ass fan like that
