| Configure QoS on your router if it supports it, that will solve your problem entirely. |

| dude you know they have like ATT pro out its like 10mb/s crazy fast, but if you have two comps and its lagging, you either have ATT basic, or your router sucks. |

ADSL internet is affected by lots of things.
Line attenuation, distance from exchange etc. even the weather can slow down your ADSL connection.
before I switched to ADSL2+ I was getting approx 3mb of the 8mb I was supposed to be getting. _________________

dude DSL is slow thats the problem, DSL is only like 768kb/sec which is really slow these days. But what i dont get is how your brother can get on youtube with you playing a game your computer should take over the speed and leave nothing for him. _________________

Well, technically my VDSL is based on LRE, but still, it's a DSL. Also, the very first standard ADSL can be upto 8/1Mbps, which is about 8000kb/s / 1000kb/s.
Anyway, do some limiting or QoS as suggested. Nice limiter program is Netlimiter (http://www.netlimiter.com/), it's not free tho. cFosSpeed (http://www.cfos.de/) is able to QoS your network, if your router doesn't support it.
There's a nice animation on cFos' site:
The green packet is your CS packet/ACK needs to be queued. That's why your packet is waiting and you're experiencing stuff called lag. |
