I've been working out for the past couple months and basically have a 6-pack in the making (looks more like 5 at this point). I don't recommend working out everyday, instead work out every other day if you're just doing abs (if you're doing more muscle groups, break them up into different days and do a cycle). This will give your abs a day to rest and regenerate. If your back is hurting, you may not be doing your sit-ups right. It's actually very easy to mess up doing a sit-up, so that's why many people recommend doing crunches instead.
As for eating, the thing you should concentrate more on is cutting back on empty calories like sugar, pop, candy, etc. Even if you have strong abs, you won't be able to see them if you have a layer of fat there. You should eat more meat though, just to help build muscle. Cardio can also help eliminating that fat.

| Well, if you strongly believe your back hurts because of that, you should probably get it looked at. I won't making a diagnosis, seeing that I'm not really qualified XD. |

Well, you are just like me, but the difference is I had an hard 6-Pack since 4th or 5th, as for you, if you can feel your bones in your back I can assume your stomach is skinny but no abs. So eat high protein fish, fried chicken, meat, and also eat vegetables for when you are able to not really feel bones in your back.
When your done with that, start jogging to increase your stamina, after you can joh a mile+ non-stop, then you start with push-up to increase your muscle in your arms/forearms and increase strength. NOW you can do crunches, keep doing them until you can do 100+, now start sit-ups.
PRO TIP: Rest every couple days and plan when you will go jogging or exercise. |

That's pretty average by my standards, but then again, I don't know your age.
Anyway, the skinny back is probably due to the sit ups - don't do any more.
Instead, eat 4 meals a day; 3 to 4 boiled eggs in the morning, chicken at 11am (subway chicken fillet if you want), salmon or tuna sushi at 2pm - 3pm (depending how hungry you are), and finally a serving of your favourite green vegies with rice or eggs at night.
Combine that diet with exercise; weights and push ups, as well as a jog if you have time; as soon as you get up (before brekkie) and just before you go to bed (I assume you go to school), and you should bulk up in around 1 month to 2 months.
Also the diet is just a guideline, you can mix it up if you want. |

we all have abs, its just that the fat is covering it, if you want your abs to show, then cut back on fatty foods, making your abs strong doesn't make it obvious if you got a layer of fat around it
i got a 6 pack, yet my abs arnt strong, and i dont train, my diet is pretty good (i barely eat unnesessary fat), and i do regular exercises, though not ALOT or for an extended period of time, its just enough to keep me healthy
note : i barely do sit ups _________________
