Hey,

I want to code a program in C++ that will act as a front end to AIM (This is just one function). However, I've never really used sockets before, and most documentation doesn't give a clear answer to what I should try to learn in order to accomplish this. I wish to log on to AIM on an account and send messages to friends, and receive the pertinent input that most clients receive. A link to a relevant socket tutorial or a quick implementation explanation would suffice. I've checked MSDN, but I'm not too sure which parts are relevant in connecting to AIM.

Thanks,
-waffles
