So the other day i was playing an "internet game" of the halo free trial. I dropped into the map and realized people were sniping me from across the map....with grenades. It turn out that everyone got this feature in that game (unlike the other hacks). What it did was wherever you were aiming, the first thing it came into contact with it automatically blew up. If you didn't get that than hear me out: "If you are currently aiming at a banshee with a pistol and then throw a grenade, you would not even see the grenade fly, it would just blow up on the banshee." Would anyone know how to go about making a hack like this, (like finding AOB's and such) because i havn't found anything like this through all the googling i have done. thats not a hack..they modded the blood glutch map so every item option has been changed..they changed the bullet of the sniper rifle to grenade and explode on contact i think...

this happens when you throw a grenade, but i kind of get what you are saying. They just switched grenade with sniper basically.

Exploding bullets. Sounds like a server-sided modification. Not a hack, and it effects everyone, even with standard 'stock' files Wink

EDIT: one more question though, will this work on halo trial and the full halo game or will it only work on one. If so which one?

yah apparently the trial version .map file will not open. But on the other hand if i go into the bloodgulch.map file in my full version the editor works. Weird how you cant even open the trial one.

halo mapping tools
sparkedit
PPF-O-Matic (to apply ppf files(patches))

and for using spark edit on the trial:

use ppf-o-matic to apply the sparkify to bloodgulch.map, use spark edit, then use ppf again to DEsparkify it

use hmt ONLY when desparkified
map will not work when sparkified
do not run the game while modding
