Okay well heres the problem, a mind twister
My dad has a Trendnet TEW-424UB adapter, it connects perfectly with the network and everything BUT
whenver he starts the computer he always has to go to advanced settings and choose "let windows configure my network and connect automatically"
and its fine UNTIL you turn the pc off and restart it , then it says windows cannot find any networks so he has to go back to advanced settings and tick that box again..
This is very annoying,
we have the latest version
He has Windows XP PRO SP3
Is there like a windows update or something that you have to download seperately?
This problem is very annoying for him _________________

My guess is that there is some sort of WLAN utility or service that is running at startup and overriding the windows settings (something installed with that adapter)... Maybe check out the startup entries for anything suspect? (usually drill... start -> run -> msconfig)
