I was browsing some sites earlier today, and now my computer is suddenly slow...

Yes it is quite possible. Going to a site can also lead to receiving a virus.

| Yes, websites can give processes. Usually they are viruses. For example: Goto www.PcPrivacyCleaner.com and you will gain a few processes, and get a few viruses from the images there downloading stuff to your computer.

Hmm, how does a site give you a process when all the languages are server sided, except HTML, and all you can do then is make them open emails and make them open irc clients... but not control them.
