so i just started emerald.
what party to make (Legitly)
My starter was a Torchick (Already evolved to lv16 Combusken)

I'm right outside the first Gym.
What party do i build throughout the game?

I tried to play pokemon stadium online does that make me fag? The client (and the emulator) was freaking unstable tho.

get someone who has emerald and keep getting starters -> trade to you -> reset get more starters -> trade you -> repeat till you get all starters, and if he wants to, get him starters.

I like Treecko better myself [Grass/Rock Teams, ftw!], but with your starter being Torchic, try to build a well rounded team with psychic, flying, or rock types along with some fire Pokemon.

I reccomend definetly picking up one of those little mushroomy things to get a breloom and a Trapinch to get a Flygon. Get a good water pokemon and a good flying one, A barboach for wishcash or a feebas for milotic (The latter is incredibly difficult to find but amazing in terms of defense and damage, a well trained milotic can be as indistuctable than a level 100 blissey but pack the punch of a dragonite). Or better yet, you could kill two birds with one stone and get a pelliper, this can function as both your water and flying pokemon by teaching it surf, waterfall, fly and Ariel ace. So after that all you really need is your rayquaza. Also, if you choose pelliper then you'll want to pick up a ralts so you can get a gardevoir.
