My dvd recorder is not working...

I can read dvds but I cant record them... When I put a empty dvd in it nothing appears on the computer... If I go to my computer it says "Put a dvd in unit D: )
What should I do to fix this?

Idk much about this kind of stuff but i think you need a program (nero/alchohol 120%/ect) to write to the disks.

Lol I know... My computer is not reading empty dvds... I record cds but dvds I cant...

Have the same problem. Checked with Nero infotool, and it said my dvd/cd-rom should be able to read and burn dvd-rw's, but when i insert one nothing happens. So i tried to update the firmware. but no Sad
