You've overwritten the legacy boot loader by the looks of it. You should ensure you have a seperate parition created for Vista should you ever wish to dualboot. And you should always install the newer operating system last of all. More details please...

it should work... worked for me when my HDD got corrupted, the install would always get an error so i put the vista disc in, deleted the partition and remade it.
works fine now

I think i found the problem, i didnt burn the bootmgr files on the disc. -_-

Installed vista again, redownloading, then burning.

Hopefully it will work.

You should have stated you couldn't boot from the CD. I for one assumed you were having issues booting from the drive... which was obviously gonna happen Smile Yeah, you need to make sure the image is bootable before you burn it. May I ask what you are using to do this?

After doing countless customization to my XP disc, and creating tons of coasters. The best way is to burn your XP into an Image file and then use virtual machine to test it out.

What I was doing is asking SwallowIt how he is making his dics bootable, so I could further help him. Not asking how to do it. I'm slightly more on with it then that, lol.
