|
|
I've just upgraded my computer's RAM from 512MB to 2GB and cleaned my computer so that the fan is working well without any noise. Now after about 2 days after I've cleaned it, the fan seems to be making a lot of noise. So I'm basically wondering if should downgrade to 1GB or do something with the fan, because I've heard that having a lot of RAM can sometimes fry your computer so my fan is probably working overtime so this doesn't happen? I think it's just my fan but I wanna hear what suggestions you guys have.

Noise from my fan of course, it's working faster than it should, thus making the noise I think.

fans usually make a noise.
and if nothing "bad" has happened yet, don't worry about it. if you start getting unexpected crashes then you should probably go down to 1 GB
also, if you have have never cleaned your fan before, then maybe it's noisier because it's working better now

The amount of RAM has absolutely no effect on the fan speed. The most likely scenario is the fan is cleaned out and spinning at full speed like it should now. You might also want to check to make sure you didn't block any other fans or vents while you were in there, from stray wires and such.
If the computer is running stable, just leave the RAM as it is.

its because your power supply is low and addin 2gigs of ram that uses even more power than before so that forces the fans to run faster causing loudness

Wrong, that extra bit of RAM will pull such a negligible amount of power that it won't affect the PSU.
