FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF-
i think the HDD got bust somehow when i turned it on it kept saying things like windows explorer has stopped working, windows window manager has stopped working etc. pretty much everything said this and CHKDSK ran every time i rebooted.
now I've tried reformatting and re-installing but there's always an error while installing. unfortunately i don't have another HDD to test with it so is there anything i can do to save this HDD or will i definitely need a new one?
should i hassle the shop i got it from to replace it? I can't remember if it came with a warranty but it probably did. (WD 500gb)

on the computer it happened to? nothing Neutral

just happened when i turned it on, probably something went wrong last time i shut it down.

edit: tomorrow I'll try partitioning it and re-installing, if this works I'll just delete the other partition that refuses to format properly
though tbh I've never tried this before but i guess there's nothing to lose...

CHKDSK should show you the error. run another CHKDSK and see whats going on
