Is there anyway to amp up the bass volume for my iPod?

I have iTunes version 8 (or what ever the newest version is) and I changed the playback settings to "Bass Booster", but it doesn't have an effect when I listen.

Also some links to songs that have a loud bassline would be nice.

Btw, my iPod is one of the very first ones that were released and also the headphones are new.

What type of ipod?
If its an iPhone or iPod Touch there may be an app or it in the app store, or possibly if its jail broken there might be an app for it. (such as the volume booster app)

Bass*
And I have a 3rd party application on my iPod that allows you to raise the volume past the normal level.

And you can change the EQ on my iPod to things such a bass booster, so its natural to assume that someone would have made the link to a bass boosting application.

After googling around there appears to be some possible solutions.
A bass boosting external speaker for ipod
http://gadgetlike.com/gadgets/bass-booster-for-ipod/
Dont know if this is related, but might help
http://www.ipodnn.com/articles/06/04/27/fix.surfaces.for.ipod.bass/
This sounds like one of the better things you could get
http://www.alldeli.co.uk/?page=proddetail&prod=18979

I dont feel like looking for anymore, but hopefully those help.

You need to go to settings in ipod and do it, The itunes settings dont effect whats on your ipod.

Also, I think you should use an older version of itunes ._.

It's an iPod Shuffle, but not one of the new ones released; its the first one released to the public. Consequently, I don't think that there would be any applications that work with it.

Yeah I realised this after using the ones that came with it, so I bought a new pair that said it would maximize bass.

The middle link has an application but the link is dead, also I already have a good set of earphones so all I need is the app. I'll search for one later.

Well I have the disk that came with the iPod 3 years ago, and the iTunes version is 7. I tried changing the settings with that, but nothing. So then I decided to download the newest version and it still doesn't work.

So anyways, I'm considering buying a new iPod, but the thing is, I really need to save money to buy a laptop for myself.

All in all, thanks.
