#1 - If you have access to the Administrator account, then just use that, if not... Follow this :

First, open the Command Prompt by typing CMD into the Search Box on the Start Menu, then right-click it and select " Run as Administrator "

Second, enter : "Net user administrator /active:yes" without quotes, and press enter.

Now you will see the Admin account on the Welcome Screen, with the other accounts you already have. It won't have a PW, but you can set one.:] But it's not subject to changes in UAC (User Account Control), has more permissions, and you can play with the registry more, if you like doing that. (I suggest not doing that unless you ABSOLUTELY know what you're doing, as it can FUCK up your computer.)

If you want to hide it, follow this :

Enter : "Net user administrator /active:no" without quotes, and press enter.

And that's about it, but it lets a lot more programs be compatible with Vista, so, hope it helps.:]

Wtf? Turning UAC off was the best thing I ever did to my Vista comp.

Besides, this is the wrong section.

Well that's allowing yourself to control access to other users and settings. However, you cannot prevent BSOD, so not all programs work that way.

Yes, that does give exactly the same priviledges as the Administrator account. Also, I have that turned off as well, stupid pop up messages that i hate come up, so i turned it off. It's just a less secure according to User privacy, but hey, my family members aren't very smart on the computers, so they don't even know how to access my pictures where there's a lot of... well... stuff.
Anyways, the whole point is that UAC can be more secure, but much more hell annoying as well. Turning it off will give same priviledges as the Administrator account.

That's why it was there in the first place.

Or, you can read the whole section in the MSDN library on how to write your applications to be Vista-, such as acquiring privileges such as accessing the registry using the security APIs. Vista isn't bad, it's just programmers are too lazy to write their programs properly.

Exactly, I have never had a problem with vista rejecting my programs.
