| Every day when I start up my computer 2 GB is gone, this has currently stolen around 50 GB so far, I am positive that I don't have a virus that is doing it, and when i entered my harddrive and checked properties of every folder in it, it reads 12.0 GB used, i use a Windows Vista Home Premium Desktop computer. Any ideas how this could be happening or how to fix it?

I'm taking a stab in the dark here, but , it looks like you are backing up all your files up daily. Just set to to manual using control panel. I would tell you how to get their exactly, but I don't have Vista. It should be somewhere around "system restore". Make it so that the data backs up when you choose, not automatic.

Windows Vista does not do backups automatically, as a matter of fact the backup is disabled if you don't touch it. Enable the hidden files and see if there are any files that's causing it.
Once I've got a notebook that has a 200GB hard drive, the HD was clean, but a day later it ate up all the HD space! I've check all the place and finally found out it was a file located in the hidden temp folder that at up the whole HD!

Use Disk Cleanup. Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Disk Cleanup. It pretty much does what kls stated, plus it deletes a bit more of stuff that's not necessary to run Windows.
Also try defragmenting your hard drive (if you haven't done it in a bit of time), sometimes you'll end up with more space.
