I want to change my ip address but is there any other way to change it instead of unplugging your router?
I followed this video youtu be.c o m/wat ch?v=8qe6cABJ 7OI
The site is the same as mine but the problem is I never had mac address clone enabled, I disconnected and reconnected but I still have the same ip address, I tried enabling mac address clone but when I go to status and reconnect, my IP doesn't show up and in that video his IP showed up in like 10 seconds. But I managed to change my IP once by doing what he did like 50 times and it finally changed but I had no idea how it did, I remember I saw my internet connection go off at my system tray for some reason and I reconnected my IP thing again and it changed. I tried disconnecting my internet connection but when I do that I couldn't reset my IP =\
Can someone help? >Sad

Your ISP ( Internet Service Provider ) is the person who gives you internet... who you buy internet from...

Give me your IP and i can check for you.

Unplug the cable modem for like a while. Plug it back in. Should get you a new IP.

Good luck! You could always contact your ISP and request a new one.

If your IP is Dynamic, you can simply change it by power-cycling your modem/router. Power-cycling is basically unplugging them both and replugging them bag in several seconds later.

If your IP is static (unchanging), you need to request a new IP from your ISP (Internet Service Provider (IE. Comcast, Verizon, etc)).

Dynamic IP's can also be refreshed by doing this:

1. Open the command prompt (start > run > cmd)
2. Type: ipconfig /renew
3. Let it load and exit once it does.

That should request a new IP from your ISP, assuming your IP is Dynamically associated with your PC.

Router settings -> MAC address clone -> Change something -> Restart modem.

Your router acts as the DHCP server, and will assign the IP

Unplug your MODEM

Unpluging means, Take out the power plug.

Leave it for like 2 hours then plug the power back in.

New ip(only works for dynamic ip)

For static, you have to call your isp and request a new one.

Slovach: router acts as DHCP server for LAN ips, while the modem acts as a DHCP client for WAN ips.

Everyone else: simply powercycling the modem/router does not always work. I know in my case (Comcast) the DHCP lease is tied to my router's MAC address. So it may be necissary to change the MAC address in the router, then powercycle everything (router and modem - modem will not recognize the router until you powercycle both).
