Ok so my wireless signal is perfect but the MBPs is fluctuating between 18 and 48 constantly. How can i stablize it? Its a linksys router with power boost, and a Scientific atlanta DPW939 wireless adapter. The adapter has a usb extender and sits up on a high shelf. Ive played with the routers channels to see if its a interference thing and all chs do the same. 5 seconds after it connects the rate drops and fluctuates between 18 and 48.
Its been run using the adapters wireless software and windows zero configuration. Any help?

1. If you have XP, make sure you have SP2 installed.
2. Try plugging your wireless adapter directly to your USB port.
3. Update your wireless adapter driver
4. Update your router firmware
5. Reposition the antenna on your wireless router.
If all methods does not work, toss everything in the trash including computer.
