This needs to be said first. I don't like Rap. And it's not because of the style of music or the people that write/perform it, it's because of the lyrics. This brings me to the point of the thread. Should rappers start writing songs without lyrics singularily focussed on money, women and crime or are they fine the way they are?

I just hate rap because EVERYONE in the rap business is so fucking cocky. They make crappy songs like Soulja Boy. All new rappers suck because its all obvious rhymes.

Soulja Boy, is what's called kiddy hip-hop. No new rappers have come this year.

I've also noticed there's ALOT of rap songs about sex, gettin up in the club, ohh noez my life sux, ima write a song about it, and that type of shit.

well that leaves every day life, which rock has pretty much descrived it as depressing >_>
anything lively is considered "gay" by most people~
theres nothing gayer like a grown man singing about going to work and about his family~

Pop sucks too, but this thread is about Rap.
And I understand what you're saying about the lyrics, and yes there are rappers that don't do that, but in general Rap songs are getting boring with their obvious lyrics and re-used beats.
