Everyone i know who is good w/ computers is saying:

-DUdE DONT GET VISTA
-Vista isnt a secure OS yet wait a year or so
-Vista is bad. the only thing good about it is the way it looks
-Vista takes up too much CPU and RAM

What is this all about? Is this true? What is?

Check out Google and type " Disadvantage - Vista " The first match would come in handy.

Disadvantages:

Vista caches applications in your RAM, therefore, you need 2GB of RAM to run Vista well
Aero effects take more-than-integrated graphics and fast CPUs to power
Price is higher than XP

I would not buy Vista now, because like XP, it was flawed at the beginning. Soon it should get better, but by then, Windows 7 might be released.

Vista is secure, but it's not very efficient.

Efficiency reasons supplied by superweapons.

Vista is a great OS and is generally much more secure than Windows XP, with new technologies such as Bitlocker and newly integrated anti-malware protection (such as Windows UAC, Windows Defender, etc) it is proven that Vista is leaps and bounds ahead of Windows XP in security. If you're bothered about any hardware limitations then Vista is obviously not for you, Vista wasn't designed for deprecated and outdated hardware.

No such thing as a perfect OS... But Vista comes close. It has a few cons, but those are heavy cons. XP runs well with 1 gig of ram, Vista needs at least 2 gigs. Vista has newer bells and whistles, most of them are useless.

Stick with the newest technology.

like the richest company in the world is going to make an operating system with look holes in security.

of course it's ahead of XP, that goes without saying..

i voted yes!
im currently running vista home premium which came with my laptop and i thought i would keep it to try it out for a while.

the reason i voted yes is cause vista is pretty secure compared to win xp..
however the reason most people tell you not to use it yet is the fact that most of your everyday programs will run on it, but you will find that almost all the things you want to use or "test out" will not work..

i just tried installing an rpg game today and it turns out the game doesnt run on vista, ive also found a few other programs that wont run on vista which kinda pissed me off.

if your looking for an os with high security i suggest getting your self a copy of experience version of server 2003 (from torrents) which has been modified to run as a home os with all the security of server 2003 and the compatability of win xp, or you could always go the linux route for good security..
