My computer will give short beeps every few seconds to minutes until eventually going to a blue screen of death, doing this multiple times until i system restore and diskcheck, it tells me that hal.dll is missing, what can i do to fix this? (also it may work for a few weeks to months after being fixed and will repeat the process above)

At first it sounded like it is overheating, but after reading the hal.dll, I'm not sure what the problem is.

1. memtest86+ for a few hours AT LEAST Run it overnight to be on the safe side.
2. Make sure an IDE / SATA cable didn't get itself loose somehow. Just check and make sure shit is nice and snug.

o.O
It's a laptop?
Well, then you really wouldn't be able to do anything other than to check that the hard drive is pushed into the sata controller all the way. Which would be done by opening up bottom of the laptop. But I'd wait to do that though, I don't know if messing with it would void any warranties on it.
Run the memtest on it first and tell us what happens.

If you have warranty, just get it replaced.

I can guarantee you its past its warranty by one or two years, the oddest thing happened, before i had it in the dining room(plugged in to a socket with no surge protector) and never could fix it, so i shut it down and took it into my room and plugged it into a socket with a surge protector, and it worked just fine, so i doubt its something that is loose or a software problem, can anyone explain this?
