But ummm... heres it.
I had my old card.. Then I saw the crap graphics of course..
Now then I took out the card and it was on default monitor graphics.
So I put in my 9600, dled the drivers, and the graphics look the same as my old graphics card, they both look like shi-.

What drivers are you using?
What games are you running?
What are the in-game settings you are using?
What resolution are you running?
What was the video card you used before you got the 9600GT?
Your CPU (Pentium 4 if I remember correctly) is a bottleneck. It might be the cause, but you would still get a performance gain if you upgrade was considerable.

The 9600GT can run CS and Soldier Front at all highest settings without a stutter due to the graphics card. As for Crysis, I expect, at the least, medium quality all around. It should produce an average of 40-50 FPS.
An ATI X600 to a 9600GT is quite a step up, at the leas,t 5x faster on all games.
Even if your processor is based on the Prescott/Cedar Mill core, it's likely your motherboard won't have dual core support. So it's best to get a new motherboard and CPU. If you can wait, Intel is releasing LGA1366 on the next-gen Nehalem platform, but you'll still have to wait after the release for the prices to drop.
What drivers are you using? Hopefully you downloaded the newest, "stable" (from what I've heard, 175.19 is somewhat unstable), which is the 175.16 drivers. If you know where to get modified nv4_disp.inf files, then try out the 177.41 drivers.

Core 2 Duo or Core 2 Quad would be good, but if you're going to upgrade your processor, you'll most likely have to upgrade your motherboard.

Yes, do not forget that is how all of your components are connected.
A shitty motherboard is not the way to go...

There are many ways to start building a PC.
I usually start by choosing a good motherboard.
Then build on it.
And no wonder you don't see any graphical changes,
if you do not change the in-game settings..
What I have read, the GF9600GT can produce an average of
30-45 fps with highest settings on crysis, with a good overall "setup".
I'm still waiting for my overclocked 9600GT to arrive

Graphics cards don't magically make games look better. Pacman will never look as good a crysis no matter what you try. Have you tried changing the graphics settings for your games?
