I'll make this short because my internet disconnects me every few minutes, basically put i have the same problem as stated this guy although this has never occurred before, I visited some relatives for a few days and had this problem with the linksys there, but had no problem with a connection of a different name, and I am home now and still have the same problem with my linksys, anyone know what's going on and how can I fix this?

+rep to anyone whos solution works.

I had this issue recently with my router due to our phones in the house. Whenever someone was on the phone, the router would die (wireless only) due to the channel on the router and phone interfering with each other.

If you have a Linksys router at home, try this:

1. Log into the router at: http://192.168.1.1 (Default is 'admin' with no pass.)
2. Goto the Wireless configuration page. (Should be: http://192.168.1.1/wireless.htm on most standard Linksys routers.)
3. Edit the channel the router is currently set to. I recommend not using the first or last channel, but instead on in between.

After that, save the changes, then restart the router. I suggest restating the computer that uses the connection as well just as an addition to refreshing the connection.

Fixed my issue.

Sounds like it is your computer, not your router...

Is this a laptop or a computer?

If it is a laptop, is the wireless card internal or can it be removed?

tried reinstalling your wireless drivers, incase it's a problem on your end? and if it's your wireless router then the username and password are usually:

user: admin
password: admin OR password

Ask your dad to do it then. Or ask him for the name/pass. It's not hard to do, takes about a minute to do it all.

They are usually removable in notebooks, just like memory, most wifi cards "clip" or "slide" into a jacket and are easily removable. If you still have the manual that your laptop came with, you should check inside that for detailed instructions on where the wifi card is located and how to remove it correctly if you need to.

All it took was a System Restore. So I think it was because I messed up an internal setting.

The cards power saving mode will cause this. I get disconnected when im 5 foot from the ap with my senao 200mw card. Thats why id rather use the utility that came with the card. Havent had that problem since.
Dont mess with your settings next time lol
