I really am thinking about getting it.

1. its for dummies [me]
2. it has dev edition of c++ [i cant dl cause my internet sucks]
3. is it good?
4. probably...
5. why do I keep doing this?
6. I don't know.

does anyone else use C++ for dummies or have

Get "Sam's Learn C++ in 21 Days." I guarantee you it will be much better. And don't use Dev-CPP.

Get visual studio. Also I recommend learning on the fly window creation so you KNOW how they work. Get sams c++ shit first then download petzolds programming windows 5th edition for win32. The book requires a basic knowledge of C++ though.

I bought C++ for Dummies in a bookstore yesterday, so far it seems to be easy to understand from someone who has already read another C++ book's stand-point. I haven't been reading through my week point section, pointers and arrays, so that'll be what puts the book to the test.

When I tried to learn C++ from books, I learned one thing: the smaller the book, the better. It's more difficult to get through long books simply because they're long, but most long books don't contain a lot more pertinent information than the short books, so long books are generally watered down and long. A short book will tell you everything you need to know to get an understanding of a concept and then move on instead of beating a dead horse for 20 more pages.

Idk about that, When i read petzolds pw 5th edition every page was great. It's prolly the best win32 book out there.

I was just starting programming. The book had over 30 pages on strings lol. That's not a good way to teach a beginner.
What you might want to try is going to the book store and reading a chapter or 2 and see if it's what you're looking for.

i started c++ in april. i never read any book...
internet is all you need if u just wanna code a simple bot/trainer.

DO NOT go into C++ thinking it will be like VB.net It may be the same concepts but the syntax / format is different. MUCH different.
