Yes, otherwise they wouldn't exist.
People that have no knowledge in computers and have a lot of money will definitely waste it on that if they think that it is "The Best".

I'm pretty sure someone would, but it would be cheaper to build on your own.

No it would not be. More powerful PC's are being build and are cheaper then buying the parts and building it yourself these days compared to how it used to be.
That pc would/could be used by game developers most likely. So this market stand point is targeting that aspect of sales rather then personal. Altho there are im sure individuals paying that much for a pc.

Then build me one, I'll supply the lawnmower.

hahahaha
They want to add almost $400 for the upgrade from an 8800 -> 9800gx2? Yeah, that's really cheaper than buying it yourself. The upgrade price is practically that of buying the card itself. Building it yourself will ALWAYS be the superior option. I could easily beat this computers performance for a third of the price. (link starts out at about $6700)
If you think developers are creating shit only on $8000 alienware's, you're hilariously wrong.

Maybe not, it's simply expensive.

The cost is in the building of the computer which I think is over priced.
