I decided since I got a job "Yay", new computer time...
I am a hard core gamer and love to turn the graphics up.
I hate to wait an hour for a single boot. We are in the 21st century... speed up a lil, its like running the latest version of Unreal tournment on DOS Box.
But what ever, This is what I am thinking of getting.
W000t:
PSU:BFG BFGR800WPSULE 800-Watt (110.00)
Mobo:Abit Fatal1ty FP-IN9 SLI [Sock:775(inteL)] (109.99)
CPU:Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Processor HH80562PH0568M - 2.40GHz, 8MB Cache, 1066MHz FSB,(200.00)
Ram:OCZ Quad Kit Platinum 8192MB PC6400 DDR2 800MHz Memory (4 x 2048MB) (229.99)
HDD's:Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 750GB Hard Drive [Sata] x2 (260.00)
GFX Card:BFG GeForce 8800 GT OC2 Video Card - 512MB GDDR3 x2 (150.00)
The hard drives will be in RAID 0+1
For more speed. Rawr.

Replace the PSU with a 600W one. The 650i isn't an extremely good motherboard, maybe a Gigabyte GA-EP43-DS3L. The CPU is nice. I would prefer Kingston HyperX over OCZ, but that's my preference (remember to get a 64-bit OS to recognize all the RAM). Hard drives are fine. Maybe you can just buy a single 9800GTX, or wait for the next-gen ATi cards. _________________

No one needs 4 9800 gx2, that's impossibly crazy. Go for a sli 8800 which is generally the best for like 98% of the games out there. _________________

"Poor" people build their own computers.
Quad SLi is 2 9800GX2s, which is equivalent to 4 GPUs. I think a triple-SLi setup might do better than a Quad-SLi setup. _________________

Lul, another one buys into the overpowered PSU hype. Get a good 600-650w PSU and save yourself the money.
I run an overclocked dual core that pulls about 180w in itself, 4GB RAM, 2 hard drives, 2 overclocked 3870's, and I might add they all fold so both cores and both GPU's are constantly at 100% load, and this is on an old 500w PSU.
Also new graphics cards will be here VERY soon so hold off on the graphics cards, and remember that SLi and Crossfire are usually not good solutions with the exception of a few rare circumstances. |

$200 for a 4850 that's only 20% faster than an 8800GT (when the 8800GT is only $160 - although it can be found at half that price). Not an awesome deal (should be $192), but still worth looking at. _________________
