im thinking of buying ATI Radeon X1600 Pro . it saids it needs a 350W power supply. would 300W be enough?

Wow that was the stupidest question that has ever been asked on the face of the earth....

No.

300watt is less than 350watt meaning it is not enough.

You may be thinking, maybe they fudged the details a little for some reason...

My friend bought a graphics card and he thought the same thing. Now he has to buy a power supply also.
