Well it won't matter much on the CPU for crysis on high settings. Majority of your money should go to your graphics card. 9800 GX2 or SLI 8800s would do the job.

That is the same thing i bought, but i bought it for 430USD less.... hehe

Anyways... It looks good and all those parts are very reliable.

To play crysis i would add another 8800gt

lol, he underlined it with red font, he means business.

Did you check the computer build catalog btw? Look for a build that includes at least an SLI 8800 GT or better. One 8800 can probably play it on medium settings at 1200 x 800

An overclocked 8800GS 384MB (slightly faster than 8800GT once overclocked) can play Crysis DX9 with hacked CFG files at 1440x900. It's playable, almost no lag (constant 30+ FPS, but I'm running a C2Q at 3GHz). So you don't need a dual graphics card setup to play Crysis high at mid-high resolutions.

As for your build:
-You don't need such an expensive case, I got one for $20 and it won't significantly affect performance. It's up to you, but in my opinion, it could be better spent on a second graphics card
-Processor is powerful (note that I got to 3.2GHz with idle ~40 degrees on stock cooling, running 3GHz on stock voltages with idle 28-34)
-RAM supported is DDR3, which is rather expensive. So get a cheaper motherboard, maybe the EVGA 750i for half the price
-Switch out the motherboard and get cheaper DDR2 RAM - you won't notice much of a difference going from 1066MHz RAM -> 1333MHz RAM (especially if you want to run a 1:1 clock speed to RAM clock speed)
-Hard drive is good, but you can get 320GB for $80 or 500GB for $100
-If you're going to spend $45 for a cooler, I would get the Big Typhoon
-You'll only need a 500-600W PSU to power this system, 400W at the absolute least (I have mines working on a 400W)
-CD/DVD Drive is good
-Good graphics card, but I would get the 8800GS, especially considering you can buy two for the same price as one 8800GT ($90 per card), but you do have extra money to spend. As a general point, you can easily overclock graphics cards by using software like RivaTuner. BTW: I would get EVGA over other brands because of their quality, likeliness of sending back rebates, and lifetime warranty (warranty for consumer-overclocked cards too)

Sorry I had to go to sleep right after I posted this. Anyways, I might get another graphics card. About the case... I don't know but when I was searching for a graphiics card, I saw the comments that alot of them were big, so I wanted a big full tower case with good cooling.

The budget is $1500 WITHOUT tax, but I wanted to spend as little money as possible, but whatever.

TO Madman: DX10 and yes Im going to use Vista, but if you can give suggestions for both DX9 and DX10, please do. There's a small chance that I may switch it to XP.

Well, I'm pretty sure you can run DX9 in Vista with a patch.

Also, don't forget about dual booting vista and xp.

I'll get together a setup for under 1500...

Is this just the computer tower, or also monitor/keyboard/mouse/speakers/etc?
