I have a computer and it currently has:
-AMD Sempron(tm) Processor 2600+
-1.60GHz, 448MB of RAM

I bought a 2GB DDR2 DIMM on the weekend and i wonder if it would work on my comp. Rolling Eyes

First, what kind of RAM do you have now?

Second, if it is DDR2 ( i really doubt it) then yes. If not, then no!

Another way to find out is ATTEMPT to put it in.

You gotta check to see if the DDR2 RAM works on the motherboard. Different types of RAM have different amount of pins in it and so they won't fit. You can either look up what type of RAM it uses by using some type of computer checking tool or just see if it fits.

Take the ram out of your computer.

Match it up to your new ram.

Are they the same size?

The program "Everest" Gives you very good information about your computer (hardware)

on RAM modules, at the bottom where it is connected, usually there are a group of pins, then another group of pins, or just a straight line of pins. This gives you an idea about how they are different. Just match them up by size with the one you bought, and if it matches, it's the same.

Im refund it and get a new one next week.
My comp is a DDR well i kinda knew when i opened it becuz my RAM was labeled DDR and the one i bought was labeled DDR2 >___>

lol madman is right. If your computer is still running DDR, it's a sign to upgrade the entire computer.
