I think that web design and web based languages should have there own section.
ie. php,html,xhtml,css,asp,ajax,js.

the main reason is because making a regular program ie. a calculator or a .dll is a very different thing from web design and i think they should be separated accordingly.

so lets ask the people of general programming what they think.

First off, there's not enough posts about web design to really need a new section,

and secondly, it's still programming--remember how this is the general programming section?

There's nowhere near enough demand for a web design section. programming is programming. I would never check out that section even though I could help out (A little bit). They'd miss a lot of traffic by being secluded.

I would certainly spend most of my time there because web design is one of my greater strengths.
I don't ever discuss web design here however.

I think within the past 3-4 months, we've had a total of about 5 PHP/HTML questions asked in this section. To be honest, I agree, the section would be pointless. Yea, you might get a few more posts from people knowing theres a section dedicated to it, but, I don't see it being a hot topic atm. Maybe if it starts growing in topics in this section. But for now, I doubt it will be needed.

If any language was to get a dedicated section it would be C++. Just look at all the C++ tags just on this page.. Still, even that would be pretty pointless (look at the other sub-forums and Console Hacking for example).
