Is there a way i can compress my files into something 3x as small? (Linux or XP)

i think there is one avialble for vista im not sure for the name though,

ive heard it can make 100mb file turn up to 10MB lulz

im pretty sure the program your talking about hiroshi is called kgb, anyway if you try it out bam let me know the compression ratio compared to others.

I've tried KGB, didn't notice a difference from RAR.

i used 7za on linux and depending on the file, it did anywhere from reduce it in half... to reduce it in a fourth!

i just tried kgb2 and it gave only 2mb difference from rar but it takes a long time to compress 1:30 mins with kgb and only like 5 secs with rar..

original file was avi 25mb
rar was 16mb
kgb was 14mb

not really worth the hassle

Well seeing as i can get 1gb down to 200kb... i could get 100gb down to about 20mb? This is also known as a (de)compression bomb.

i've downloaded compressed files that took over 5 hours to extract, command and conquer the original. It opens an MSprompt window. I dont recall the file extensions, however ,if you search for command and conquer (the original) and see the file list , you can go from that.

i think compressed it was 250 mb, and extracted 2gb - 3gb, however, long extracting process, usually indicates a longer compression process
