I have this game. I keep finding addresses and try to change it but it wont change the value

but using the addition methods example 03144714 +fffffffffffff750
i could get the address of the movespeed which is a float

why is there a need to add ffff something to these addresses
could someone explain

You can also give : 03144714-8b0 which is the same

The thing is i dont understand why do i have to have some values to the address that i get to get to the real addresses, its not even a pointer
