Hello, I am going to be purchasing a PC for gaming shortly.

I don't want help choosing but here is my problem...

• I want a PC

But, we have a proxy server and blocks all of the online game. There are some wireless connections though in my area that don't have passwords.

So, my question is could I buy a wireless card or something and put it in my PC when I get it so that I can just pull out my internet cable and play online games when I want...?

Would there be anyway?

Also, how would I boost the signal or my wireless card or whatever so I can connect better?

get eaither a bigger wireless card or some sort of antenna

Wait, you mean stealing internet from other people, like getting into their networks? My brothers friend does that, since he doesn't have internet, he steals it from his neighbors. I can ask him if you want.

Thanks, I think I just need to put a wireless card into my PC.

And yeah, I will steal it, but you see I cannot play online game because of our proxy so by using theres I can, I have tried this on a laptop. I would buy a laptop but I prefer a PC.

Wait I don't get it. Are you an adult who wants a computer at their own house? Where do you connect into the internet that blocks stuff? The only place I can think of is a network at a business place or at a school. Either way, in order to use a wireless card or adapter, you still need a router nearby to give you the internet. Most smart people, put a password on that which isn't easy to hack. Asking for it might bring up some eyebrows. Unless you live next to a school or a building, I donno where you got the proxy idea. Unless you are really also going to bring your gaming computer to your work cubicle and play while the boss is turning their head.

There are wireless PCI cards that you can purchase.

The distance the wireless signal can travel depends on the quality of the card, not by the length or number of antennas it has. Confused
