How do I cheat?

Ok, So I just got CE and was using it, but every time I search for a value, I get this error: "Error while scanning: I/O error 103"

What is this and how do I fix it? Could it have to do with me attaching CE to the .exe file? Because you've got to do it quit, before game guard finishes checking. Another problem is when I load up some hacks a friend sent me, the values are set to "??". I downloaded a new GG server, one called abyss, could it be a problem with that or the hosts files perhaps?
