I got this HP Compaq that was bought about a decade ago. It runs Windows XP and it's just in terms very old. It uses 256 Ram, has like a 1.6 ghz. I don't really remember what kind of processor. It's at a friends house and she asked me to help her fix it. It works just fine and stuff but yesterday I opened it to check her RAM and to see what type of RAM she uses so I can install some more for her and when I closed it back up and re-plugged everything back in, the computer won't start. She would press the power button and the computer will turn on and just do a regular long beep and the monitor won't respond to it. Any suggestions to what happened? I'm pretty good with computers and I know how to build them, so I was extra careful. I didn't mess with the inside. I just took the RAM out and placed it back in. Was there something I did wrong? Or is it a computer issue?

Well i'm not so sure about the RAM problem. I might have had a mistake about it. Thanks for the help. I will look at the computer later on today. Just out of curosity. Would the computer work without that RAM module? The computer just has 256 RAM and that ram comes from that one stick. If I removed it, would the computer move at all? It was kinda hard to see and dusty. I will check if it is correctly placed in. Thanks again for help.
