As you all know, Win XP SP3 is out to the public a few days ago. Should I upgrade from SP2 to SP3? Can anyone that upgraded tell how it is? The only thing I'm unsure about is if the prologues for APIs have changed so that it's incompatible with SP2.

yes, and look up how to fix the GDI bluescreen error if you happen to get it, just in case.

The preambles should be the same, all sp3 is is a load of fixes.

sp3 is a good thing to get. alot quicker than sp2

I heard SP3 as some Vista stuff in it.
Although it is said to be heaps faster then SP2

Rumour has it that it can be up to 10% faster at intensive tasks than XP.
I've not seen such a difference though, even in careful benchmarking and such.
The only thing I'd caution people on is if you have a HD Audio bus on your mobo. It won't be recognized, unless of course you hunt out the hacked microsoft hd audio bus driver, which will then allow XP to see it and allow your audio drivers to install.

If you install SP3 and have onboard high-definition audio, theres a 90% chance that it won't be recognized. It won't show at all. You need to grab hold of the 'fixed' bus driver for it to be recognized. Only then will you be able to install you realtek (< most likely) audio drivers. Its a 2-stage process if that applies to anyone. Other than that, its just bug fixes, and security updates, nothing more.

SP3 may be faster in theory, but it's not really noticeable in actuality.

It basically feels the exact same as before the update for me.
