My firend show me once how to do it, now I forgot. I bought two 512MB RAM, I publged both of them in to my computer but it only says 512MB of RAM when I checked my computer. Anyone know what to do. It would also help if you post a set of instructions.

Take all your ram out...
If you have 4 ram slots, put 1 in the first one, and one in the second one
If you have 2 ram slots, put 1 in the first one, and one in the second one.
Push down as far as you can, then fasten it with the fasteners. You should here a click. Repeat.

I did all that, but it still says I have 512MB RAM. It should say I have 1GB of RAM.

Blow out the RAM slots really well, and check that there's nothing on the pins of the RAM.
If all else fails check the limit the board supports, though I doubt it's limited to 512.

Here is it, thisis a very old computer. Before it was using the SDRAM slots, but the ream I bought is DDR. I am sure I put them in the right slots, because the little tabs atthe ends click down.

Mine is in dual-channel (next to eachother) but it shouldn't matter, it should still recognize it.
Maybe one of the sticks are a dud.

To test; stick one in. Work? Yes? Remove, stick other in. Work? Yes? Let us no. No? Take it back.

You have already been told to trouble shoot by using one stick at a time.
Thats what you should do to see if one is a dead stick.
Also if you dont know what the hell you are doing you should not be in there in the first place.
