To get the WinXP style onto VB6 copy this code into notepad:
Code:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes"?>
<assembly xmlns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:asm.v1" manifestVersion="1.0">
<assemblyIdentity type="win32" processorArchitecture="*" version="6.0.0.0" name="mash"/>
<description>Enter your Description Here</description>
<dependency>
   <dependentAssembly>
      <assemblyIdentity
           type="win32"
           name="Microsoft.Windows.Common-Controls" version="6.0.0.0"
           language="*"
           processorArchitecture="*"
         publicKeyToken="6595b64144ccf1df"
      />
   </dependentAssembly>
</dependency>
</assembly>

Once your done with that, save the file as: VB6.EXE.manifest
Remember to save it to: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio\VB98 or where ever your VB6.EXE file is located. Now open VB6 and enjoy.

Please note I did not make the coding I just figured out how to use it. I'm still trying to find out how to convert this to vista. Enjoy!

Another ways :
putting manifest file could looks dirty.
so just make filename.manifest to resource file and just put in vb project.

or you can put manifest source with hex editor.

a reminder that a manifest file must be a multiple of 4 bytes in size.

and if you try on some other systems (like chinese xp) chances are sometimes it will fail. so test well.
