no sound works on my computor no more it allways does this to me

and alos is it possible to password protect a folder

Somethings happened to your sound driver by the looks of it.
Either that, or your sound hardware has failed you in the strangest way.
You should first check to see what motherboard you have or what sound card is in your PC.
www.lavalys.com have a diognostic program called everest.
You could try installing that, having a look at what it says your motherboard/sound chipset is, then you can either follow the links it gives or post back more info here and either myself or one of the guys will point you in the right direction

Not sure if you can password-protect a folder, but you can in WinRAR.

Yeah, windows will do encryption or compression, but not both.
And its done on a per user basis using the EFS (encrypting file system), without a specific password input.
The only way, extra software, like superweapons put

Alrighty, i've looked it all up and it all checks out.
Its using onboard realtek AC'97 Audio.
Grab it from here an install, reboot:
Realtek AC'97 Audio Download
Pick the one that matches your operating system.
The downloads can be slow from their own site, so you might want to google about for alternate download sites such as softpedia.
