i got a flat screen monitor but its dirty (more then 2 years old) so how can i get it clean without destroying it?

A microfibre cloth which will set you back a couple of pounds (you can use these for anything, they are so soft, do not scratch and do not smear; they pick up dust but do not re-deposit).

Then get some isopropyl alcohol, make sure its rubbing alcohol, the high % stuff. No less than 70% pure. Water it down about half, make another bottle of this new mixture. Then use this to gently clean your flatscreen

Check ebay for some good sellers that provide the above stuff.

I don't use anything else myself. This is safe, clean and foolproof. You can easily wash out the microfibre cloth to re-use again. Its pretty tough too.

Don't use soap & water mixtures like some, lol, asking for trouble. Anything that sounds dodgy probably is, especially against a TFT display.

why shoudl i get more than 70% alcohol and then mix it with 50% water?
cant i just take some vodka?

Because the idea is to get as much as you can out of the bottle.
It works out better value for money if you initially get a purer solutions and mix it with 2 parts water, which you then will have a decent amount of for cleaning.

And no, not vodka, rubbing/cleaning alcohol.

Yeah similar thing, trap the dust and other build-up well.
Can't say what they go for though...
