|
|
I am going to buy a card with 1gb of RAM.
My Pc specs are:
Windows XP SP2 All up to date.
2.0 Ghz
256 ram (Supports up to 2gb DDR 333/266/200)
64 Mb video card. ATI Radeon 7000
____
Now my question is, i play some 3D games that need 512 RAM, sometiems i get lag spikes, and their frames seem slow.
upgrgading to 1256 RAM will fix that? or it will depend on the processator too? and what about my vid. card?
Thanks and please answer

an extra 256 mb of ram wouldnt hurt your machine.
however a newer gfx card might help you out a litte more i recommend getting both or a new computer.
cpu is just fine 2ghz is still fast enough for most game

| While you do need more RAM, you'll still probably have choppy frame rates due to that old video card. Also you never listed what CPU you have, the clock rate alone tells us nothing.

That's also pretty weak, you may just want to consider a complete rebuild if possible.
If you're on a strict budget, I would recommend adding RAM first, then a new graphics card. The CPU could use an upgrade but not as bad as the rest.

Follow Cheetah's instruction. That computer is pretty old, won't do much more than web surfing and emailing/basic tasks.
The graphics card and RAM are really old (4-5 generations behind). Pentium 4 isn't 100% obsolete, if you can pair it up with a powerful graphics card, then you should be able to play modern games well. Before you buy a new graphics card, check the interface. ATi 7000 cards use either PCI (not PCI-Express) or AGP 2x/4x. You might also need to consider changing the motherboard if it isn't compatible.
