Normally I would say format or MSConfig....

But really, MSConfig might help because you can limit what starts up with your computer, and less there is running, easier it is for your computer to turn them off.

Defrag your Hard Drive.

Um...
Virus Scan, SpyWare Scan while your at it.

If I think of anything else, I'll post here.

defrag your registry
delete temp internet and unneeded files

I have 2gb of RAM on my comp.
It's running fine.
He probably has like 512mb?
