question!
is your board pga or lga..

LGA is the new socket type dual cores and all, they have the pins on the board instead of the chip.

PGA is the old version non dual core as far as i know if it is this find out which socket its using it will tell in the book or on the dell site.

then buy the cpu accordingly.

ok just checked up on the computer its a socket 478 not multi core..
i would go for the 3.0 ghz with the 1mb L2 cache

still it would be better with a whole new computer that one kinda sucks get your self a dual core and ddr2 ram board its much faster and alot better for future stuff as i can see atm.

You're hardware is so shitty, I'd advise getting a whole new computer.

Also, you spam stupid replies just as much, if not more, than Cryoma.

RAM is a perfectly reasonable solution to most computer problems, just installing a new card of it corrected several startup issues on my computer.
RAM = Not spam.
Although they rhyme.

What type of slot are you going to put the CPU on? It ranges from Socket 370, Socket 478 (most likely), to Socket LGA775 (there are others but I excluded them).

Like Madman said, this computer isn't good for anything beyond basic tasks like web surfing, even doing that it might have some trouble.
