he meant impatient, just wrote it wrong...

and yes fuck DEV C++

Go with Microsoft Visual C++ 2008

I hate dev c++!

MICROSOFT FTW! Wink

and as you learn and study code, you'll subconsciously remember things...

its not like in 3rd grade math memorizing your multiplication lol Smile

its just like learning english... you just know it... you don't try to memorize words, you just learn them!

Actually programing can be alot of learning that is math. And it is like learning a new langauge just alot easier. Make sure you get at least the directx sdk.

Referencing is something that you will do no matter what. Good programmers do it still and will always do it. Not everyone remembers every single thing about something. There will always be sections of something that you will need to look up, or something new that you will need to learn about.

Like others said, over time you get used to writing things out and will start to memorize things. Programming is not something you just get overnight. It takes time and dedication. You get back what you put in. If you try and put the effort into learning, it will reward you in the end.

Dev-C++ ain't that bad, i'ts somewhat buggy but i find it very user-friendly and it isn't as complicated as MS-VS (for a beginner). if you have a slow PC go for Dev-C++ first before MSVS. i tried Visual Studio 2008 and slowed my pc performance, so i decided to stuck with Dev-C++ for a while.
