ok so the other day my friend starting have problems with his computer.
When he started his computer it would show "A problem has been detected on your hard drive" message.
Some programs would not work, and it would randomly restart.
So after all this he tried to reformat his hard drive which did not work.
SO then he bought a new hard drive.
He was still having problems, so he did a scan and it said he had a Win32:Virut virus.
He said important .exe files (such as logon.exe) are corrupted, if he quarantine them he cant run the computer normally but he can still run it in safe mode.
SOOO
does anyone have any information that can help get rid of this virus?

| Reformat. I had the same virus. If you want to save something be sure you disinfect it or something before you open it again.

How can you not reformat?
You boot from disk and that doesn't require an OS.

Oops, didn't see that. Wierd that he got a virus after he reformatted.
Uhm, you could try disinfecting all files with an antivirus or reformat again.

Boot DOS, delete all partitions, make a new NTFS partition, boot CD, format that partition a few times (if it will let you), install OS.
