I'm sure some of you have seen mods like thottbot for WoW that can be used to track item drop rates and stuff like that from enemy creatures. The thing is, WoW has the nice little UI modding system making it a pretty simple thing to do.
Now what if I want to do something like this for a game that doesn't have such a nice UI system? I've been doing a little research, and found some terms such as "client hooking" that sounds like the way I need to be going but I wanted to ask here first before I spend 6 months of my life learning how to do that kind of stuff.
One problem I for see with client hooking is that it's most likely not really easy to do in the language I use (C#) and I'm not very fluent in C/C++. So if there are any alternatives, any info on that would be appreciated.
Don't misunderstand the point of this post, I'm not asking for a step by step how to, just a direction that I should take. I've never done this kind of hacking before, so I'm completely new at it. I do, however, have proficient experience in memory editing and general programming so don't feel like you have to dumb stuff down for me to understand it .
Thanks in advanced for any responce! |
