Cache files are likely to get stored on ur RAM (Random Access Memory) CPU (Central Processing Unit) Virtual RAM (hard drive used as RAM)
they make ur program run faster. and sometimes they protect ur hard drive from damaging if you are download too fast like 1.5MB/s. and the cache reduce the rate of reading and writing in your hard drive rapidly and causing damage.

In other words, a cache is a temporary storage area where frequently accessed data can be stored for rapid access. Once the data is stored in the cache, future use can be made by accessing the cached copy rather than re-fetching or recomputing the original data, so that the average access time is shorter. Cache, therefore, helps expedite data access that the CPU would otherwise need to fetch from main memory. |
