Reboot or select appropriate boot device or insert boot media in selected boot media.
That is the error I get. I am pretty sure it is the hard drive. Am I right?

Depends. Are you getting to a Windows screen at all? Check your BIOS to see which device your computer is set to boot from.

Then check your BIOS to be sure you're booting from the HDD.

You mean pressing ESC at the beginning? I made it boot from my hard drive. I tried a boot CD and tried /fixboot. It said the drive could not be found.

What type of computer do you have? SATA HDD or the older ones that use Ribbon Cables? Could you put the drive in a different computer as a slave and see if it's corrupted/formatted?
