| I'm running Windows XP SP2 and I have this strange problem. I can't upload pics or files to any site. Also, I can't seem to install any Microsoft Updates. It will download them, but it wont install them. I've ran virus scans using avg, and spyware scans using ad-aware. However, they didn't find anything. :/ I've also done a repair install. I can upload pictures and files just fine on my Linux partition. I'd really like to avoid reinstalling the OS. Any ideas? |

I'm using Firefox, but it does it on IE as well. I haven't tried it on opera yet, but I can imagine it'd do the same. |

I don't know... Guess you got some crap on it so if you can't get it removed the usual way (hijackthis, startupinfo, virusscanner(s), etc) I would just copy my files to a 2nd partition and reinstall lol ^^
Takes only 1 hour (including copying ur data) instead of days trying to find the cause ^^ |

Partition dude ^_^ "I can upload pictures and files just fine on my Linux partition."
Yeah, I guess I could, but I was reeeeaaaallly hoping to avoid that
I spose I'll have to break down and just format it. *sobs*
I hate doing that when I haven't found the source of the problem. Mainly because if it happens again I'll know what to do. I don't usually see formating as an answer with such a minuscule problem as this one, but if I can't figure it out by the end of the weekend I mite as well. |

that sorta weird. you can't upload things or install updates lol. they have like nothing to do with each other... i'd just format because you've probably got more than one problem going on with your computer. _________________
