It's probably overheating, what kind of 8800GTX you have?

Was it pre-overclocked or you overclocked it? In both cases, try lowering your clocks frequencies.
You probably don't have good air circulation in your case.

Use RivaTuner. Lower your frequencies to default (standard frequencies) in your case, you should have a 1458MHz Shader clock, 621MHz Core clock and 2.0GHz Memory frequency (will show as 1000MHz since it's DDR2)
Lower them with RivaTuner to 1350MHz for Shader clock, 575 MHz for the Core clock and 1.8GHz for the Memory frequency (900MHZ)
If the problem continues, it maybe related to something else then the Video card. Like the PSU.

No it's not, lower your memory clock to 900, don't worry about Shader clock. Go try to play a game, if your computer restarts, there something else wrong with your computer.

Q9450 = 2.67GHz (Not out yet)
Q6600 = 2.4GHz (I believe you are talking about this one)
Q9550 = 2.83GHz (Not out yet)
